新型コロナ軽快時に味覚障害と嗅覚障害が発症する理由
新型コロナウイルス感染症の第7波は、喉の痛みや発熱や倦怠感で発症した
ほとんどの方が１週間以内に治癒する軽症コロナでした。
多摩境内科クリニックの福富院長は、新型コロナ感染者の
健康観察として、2022年８月は自宅療養した約200人の患者さんに
毎日電話をかけて、経過観察を行いました。
味覚障害か嗅覚障害があった患者については約6人に電話で症状を
お伺いする事ができました。
その時、味覚障害と嗅覚障害の経過に
ついて、最初はその理由がわからず不思議に感じたのです。
発症時でなく、4～5日ぐらいして治りかけの頃に
味覚障害と嗅覚障害をおこした患者さんが6人中4人でした。
しかも、味覚障害と嗅覚障害は同時期に発症するという特徴がありました。
発熱などの感冒症状がピークをすぎて治癒しつつある時に
なってから、味覚障害と嗅覚障害がでてくる事が多かったのです。
なぜなのだろう考え、それを説明できる理由は１つしか思いつきませんでした。そしてそれを今回、福富説として発表したいと思います。
ウイルスがヒトの細胞に感染した後にできる免疫は
血液の中の抗体や、遊走能があるキラーT細胞（細胞障害性T細胞）です。
キラーT細胞はウイルスが中に入った細胞を見つけると、それを細胞ごと破壊してしまいます。発症して4日ぐらいした頃、戦闘開始の準備ができたキラーＴ細胞が感染細胞に対して攻撃を開始するのではないでしょうか？
キラーＴ細胞が鼻や口の中の味覚や嗅覚に関係する細胞を壊してしまうのです。だから味やにおいが異常になるのではないかと考えました。
ウイルスの毒性ではなく、ヒトの体の免疫によって
細胞が障害されて味覚障害と嗅覚障害が発症するのだという説です。
※新型コロナ第7波において多摩境内科クリニックから自宅療養の経過観察を電話で行った味覚障害と嗅覚障害の患者さん約6人は、全員が3週間以内に症状消失し治癒しました。
